Nora Shepard, born into wealth, is the daughter of a corporate chairman and an art school graduate. Her parents insist she stays home to help with the family business after graduation. Galen West, a family friend, grows up with Nora and plans to marry her. Meanwhile, Luna Keats orchestrates a car accident to kill her own parents, gaining sympathy and becoming the adopted daughter of the Shepard family. She studies art alongside Nora, often copying her ideas, and later works as Nora's assistant. Luna's ultimate plan is to destroy Nora and take everything, including Galen.
